Outside Reading Pre-post

Hey ya’ll. I choose to read “The Crucible.” What do I expect from this book? I expect it to be twisted but understandable. It is a play, so I also expect it to move along smoothly and to flow. There is no text inbetween speech, and, therefore, no room for the mood of the play and its reader to lose concentration. Constant attention will be demanded, but that is not a problem. What made me choose “The Crucible”? Mr. Wasserman suggested it to me after class one day. He said that if I was interested in the Puritans then I should read “The Crucible” for the outside reading asignment on evil. I have another reason for choosing it though. I think it is important to read a view on Puritans in the form of a play. It should be interesting.

I have read the first two acts of this play and if you like a bit of a horror story you have made a good choice. Arthur Miller does a good job of making the witchcraft seem real. I hope you are enjoying “The Crucible” so far. I enjoyed reading your post.
